  • Black Beauty Eggplant seeds prefer warm, rich soil and full sun.
  • Sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last anticipated frost date. Plant 1/4 inch deep in deep flats or cells. Keep soil temperature around 80°F or greater.
  • Transplant outdoors once warm weather returns and soil temperature is around 60°F or greater.
  • Set transplants 18 to 24 inches apart in rows 30 to 36 inches apart.

    Check maturity by pressing thumb against skin, if fruit does not spring back it is ready for harvest.
