Heirloom Hungarian Sweet Wax Pepper Seeds Planting Instructions

    • Hungarian Sweet Wax Peppers need full sun for optimal growth.
    • Sow seeds indoors in warm soil (65°F to 70°F), 1/4 inch deep in flats, peat pots, or cell packs 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting outside.
    • Allow seedlings to grow indoors in a warm, sunny location for as long as possible. Don't rush to transplant outside.
    • 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost, plant them in a sunny location outdoors 2 inches deep and 12 to 24 inches apart, in rows 24 to 36 inches apart (or spaced about 14 to 16 inches apart in raised beds).

Heirloom Hungarian Sweet Wax Pepper Seeds Harvesting Instructions

Hungarian Sweet Wax Peppers are ready to pick about 120 days after planting, when they are crisp, shiny, and firm.

Use garden shears to clip the fruit from the plant instead of pulling them. Store the peppers at 50°F with at least 90% humidity, if possible.

Keep them away from other fruits and vegetables due to their sensitivity to ethylene gas, which causes them to age faster.

Did You Know This About Hungarian Sweet Wax Peppers?

The Hungarian Sweet Wax Pepper is one of the largest hot peppers, making them perfect for stuffing.
